This trip was focused on theater and opera, with museums and jazz clubs filling out the itinerary. Traveling in autumn allowed us to avoid peak crowds and still enjoy relatively mild weather. On most of our other trips, we had to contend with learning some phrases and conversation in another language. It was really convenient to stay with English this time, although there are a few different words, phrases, and accents that can be challenging to understand.

London was founded and named Londinium by the Romans in 47 CE. It is one of the oldest and largest cities in Europe. With a greater metro population of over 14 million, it is the largest city in the United Kingdom. It is the capital of England and the U.K.
